Our story began over four decades ago, Maries Pizza has been more than just a place to grab a meal—it’s been a Gold Coast institution, built on unmatched quality, fresh ingredients, and pizzas piled high with flavour.
The journey began in 1981, when Marie and Ted Sherman opened their first store in Palm Beach, Queensland, determined to create something truly special. They sought the expertise of a world-renowned pastry chef to craft their own signature dough and pioneered the Gold Coast’s first-ever pizza delivery service. Their commitment to using only the freshest ingredients and serving up generous portions quickly earned them a loyal following.
A Family Business Rooted in Community
As demand grew, so did the Maries Pizza family—both in business and spirit. Marie and Ted brought their entire family into the heart of operations, ensuring that every pizza carried their commitment to quality, tradition, and community. The Palm Beach store became more than a restaurant—it was a local landmark, welcoming surfers, families, and even celebrities who craved the legendary Maries experience.
With success came expansion, and new locations flourished across Helensvale, Southport, Mermaid Beach, Mudgeeraba, Palm Beach, and Tugun. Their menu also grew, adding hearty pasta dishes, crisp salads, indulgent garlic bread, and irresistible desserts, all crafted with the same dedication to freshness and flavour.
